Guidance from the Inner Master Helps Secure a Desired Job
I finally quit my job of seven years. It was a job I used to love but over time had made me feel tired, stressed and burnt out. When I left the job, I was lured into doing an online business with the idea of being able to make money while having the flexibility to travel for leisure.
I was enthusiastic and took up a course on what an online business entailed and how to get started. I networked with like-minded people, did plenty of online research and still could not decide what product or service I was going to market. Before I knew it, six months had passed.
I was forced to take stock of my unproductive situation. First of all, I lacked the discipline to get something related to the business accomplished daily. Secondly, I lacked motivation. I was calculating the profits of potential products and they seemed too little to convince me to take any action. That’s when I realised that I had to find a ‘system’ that suits me and going back to the corporate world seemed obvious thing to do.
At the same time, I felt this experience was a reflection of my own spiritual direction and progress. I asked myself many questions: Do I have the discipline? Do I have the motivation and desire? What is my spiritual goal? Do I have clarity? What am I going to do with my life? How can I live the life I want and yet be of service? Can I achieve all that yet enjoy what I do?
For the next few days, during my contemplations, I asked for guidance on adirection I could take and the type of job and company I wanted to be in. As usual, I was drawn to the book, The Spiritual Laws of Life by Sri Harold Klemp, a book I had relied on heavily, for the past few years. I studied the following spiritual laws: the Law of Attitude, Law of Unity, Law of Facsimile, the Law of Vibration and the Law of Assumption.
Then, I wrote down specifically a list of my preferences pertaining to the job scope, company, salary and most importantly, how I wanted to be of service to the organisation and to Divine Spirit. In the list, I also indicated I would like to work in one of the top 500 fortune companies located not more than twenty minutes from where I lived.
My next step was to visualise getting a position in the company of my choice with all the preferences I desired. Then I visualised myself signing the contract. After that I surrendered the outcome to the Inner Master trusting that Divine Spirit would bring me what is best for my spiritual unfoldment.
The following week, I received a call from a head-hunting company and landed my first interview with Microsoft. I eventually got the job. Everything I had wanted had become a reality and this was only possible with inner guidance and blessings.
This experience has taught me that anything and everything is possible, provided effort and action are taken before one surrenders to Divine Spirit. A world of possibilities is only feasible with a positive attitude, positive feeling and positive actions towards a specific goal. Most importantly, for me, whatever one asks for has to be balanced with a willingness to be of service to life.
The following quote from The Language of Soul by Sri Harold Klemp is very close to my heart: “The Holy Spirit will give us all that we need.
First, we must learn to expect the best in life, and be willing to plan and work for it.
Second, we need a clear mental picture of what we desire.
Third, this picture is to be maintained constantly, with the certainty that Divine Spirit will supply any rightful desire.
Fourth, there must be gratitude for every good thing received.”
I have applied the lessons I have learned from this experience to all aspects of my life on my spiritual journey home to God. I realise that the qualities of discipline, determination and focus are keys to staying on the ECK path for greater spiritual unfoldment.
Thank you Mahanta, for your constant guidance, protection and blessings.
